RELOCATION:

A new chapter:

W.F. Gormley & Sons announces future move to Riverside Boulevard.

Fourth and fifth generations
of the Gormley Family will continue independent ownership as the Sacramento funeral home
prepares for a new chapter in 2026.

For the last 129 years, each generation of the Gormley family has made thoughtful decisions guided by one central question: What best serves Sacramento families? In both 1901 and 1924, previous generations made the difficult decision to relocate in order to better meet the evolving needs of the community. Now we find ourselves at those same crossroads, and we are approaching this new chapter with that same commitment and sense of responsibility. We never saw a relocation coming, but when this property was listed for sale; we had to explore the opportunity. We will be making the move to 2685 Riverside Blvd, previously George L. Klumpp Chapel of Flowers Funeral Home location, at some point in 2026.

With our new location, we are proud to remain in the City of Sacramento and will be situated less than two miles from our current Midtown Sacramento facility, which will allow us to continue serving families in the heart of the community while offering meaningful improvements. The new site will provide increased onsite parking and convenient freeway access, making it easier and more accessible for the families we serve during life’s most difficult moments.

Most importantly, this transition reflects what we have learned by listening closely to the families who have entrusted us with their care. The new facility will include a dedicated reception space, an important addition that reflects the evolving wishes of today’s grieving families and creates a welcoming environment for gathering, remembrance, and connection. As always, the onsite Chapel will be space that all faiths can comfortably utilize to honor their loved one.

While our address may change, our foundation remains the same. The Gormley family, under the direction of the fourth and fifth generations, will continue its independent ownership and operation, preserving our family roots and longstanding commitment to dignified and compassionate service. As we enhance and renovate the new location, we will thoughtfully incorporate elements of our legacy and history into the building, honoring our past while preparing for the future.

We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all those in the community who have partnered with us to help us realize our vision for this next chapter.

The fourth and fifth generations of the Gormley family, alongside our dedicated team, are proud to begin this next chapter. We look forward to continuing to serve Sacramento families with the same integrity, care, and commitment that have defined our family business for generations.
