Timothy Russell King

Timothy Russell King passed away August 19, 2026, at UC Davis Medical Center at the age of 72 with his wife by his side, after a long battle with complications from a bone marrow transplant.

He was born in Hollister in October 1953 to Frank & Dolores King. He grew up in Sunnyvale, graduated from St. Francis High School, and earned a degree in accounting from San Diego State. He worked various jobs until he found his true calling, computer programming. He started out writing software for the mortgage industry where he met a client, Pam, who became the love of his life. After they were married, he switched gears and began writing software for Pathology. He had a beautiful mind and was always writing code, even in his sleep.

Tim had a great sense of humor and always tried to bring a smile. He loved a challenge. It was what drove him as an athlete and a coach in his youth. It was this same drive that gave Tim a healthy taste for the art of debate with his closest friends and family. This passion for a challenge is what he loved about writing code, solving riddles, and playing games. In his retirement he was an avid golfer, always in competition with himself to improve upon his game. He continued writing code to create programs for personal use. He liked sitting on his deck enjoying the wildlife or hiking with his loved ones. He faced his last and final challenge in fighting cancer. Even in his final moments Tim accepted the challenge and fought hard to the very end. Tim deeply loved his family, his dog and his God.

Proceeded in death by his parents Frank & Dolores, his brothers Stephen and Michael. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Pamela King; his children Amanda (Max) King Margolin, Caleb (Robin) Galvan and Bryce (Amanda) Galvan; and his six grandchildren; his brother Tom (Suzi) King; along with many nieces and nephews.
