Mary Katheleen Herrington

Mary Katheleen Herrington, born on October 13, 1943, in Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Kimball Herrington, with whom she shared a lifetime of devotion and cherished memories.

Mary’s legacy lives on through her four devoted children—Shirley, Dora, Kathryn, and Scott—who were by her side in her final days. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Justin, Jordan, Ashley, and Brandon, and a joyful great-grandmother to Bailey and Sienna, with another great-grandchild on the way, a blessing that would have brought her great joy.

Mary’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she enriched, but her spirit and love will continue to shine through the generations she nurtured.

Mary’s memory will live on in the stories shared, the lives she shaped, and the love she gave so freely. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the joy of the family she treasured.

A memorial service will be held on January 9, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at W.F. Gormley & Sons Funeral Chapel, located at 2015 Capitol Avenue in Sacramento, California.

Later that day, at 1:15 p.m., her burial will take place at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road in Dixon, California, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, reunited once again. Although no formal service will be held at the graveside, family and friends who wish to be present as Mary is laid to rest are warmly welcome.
