Celebrating the life of Keethan Vault Johnson "Theek",  with family and friends, Friday, August 14,  3:00 to 7:00 pm, and Saturday, August15,  11:00 am

Keethan Vault Johnson was born on March 9, 1982, to parents Keith Vault Johnson and Evon (Mitchell) Madden.

He went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, July 31, 2026.

Keethan was born in Fresno, California and raised in Sacramento. As a teen, he also lived in Jacksonville, Florida and Vacaville, California. He graduated as president of the Vanden High School class of 2000. After graduation, he couldn’t wait to move back to Sacramento. He attended Sacramento City College, where he ran track and made lifelong friends.

Keethan was a hard worker and a true extrovert. He excelled as a sales representative, with a career that spanned many industries. Many of his colleagues and customers became like family to him.

From a young age, Keethan had a rare creative talent and the ability to walk up to any stranger and make a connection that would last. A gifted communicator, when Keethan spoke, people listened close and laughed often. His thoughts flowed freely in a way that was vivid and resonated deeply. A long conversation with him was one of the most affirming experiences you could have.

One reason he had so many close relationships is because you never had to wonder where you stood with him. He was happy to share his feelings, and whether good or bad, they were always real. And if he loved you, he’d never let you forget it.

He was passionate about many things, most of all being a father and uncle. He also loved Cadillacs, tattoos, Midtown Sacramento, artists, musicians, the A’s, his mom’s cooking, fashion, long drives, Vans, the Bay, the Dirt Bags, his days as an emcee with Righteous Movement, making kids laugh, trips to see the family in Florida, hearing people’s stories, his faith, and being the #1 fan cheering on the pursuits of his friends and family.

Keethan was someone who left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew him. He had a presence that drew people to him, he was deeply compassionate, and he was a devoted member of the creative community of Sacramento. He also traveled the world and found people he could relate to and laugh with in all corners of the globe. He was a true original, a unique, creative soul whose spirit couldn’t be tamed or tethered.

Those who loved him will be forever grateful for his presence in their lives.

Missing his joyful spirit are: His father Vault Johnson, mother Evon Madden, daughter Callie Mae Johnson, nephew Cassius Johnson Jr., stepfather John Madden, stepmother Vanessa Johnson, brother Wayman Stewart, sister Branndii Holden, grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Wilson and Patricia Vault Jr., and Mr. & Mrs. Carl and Lois Latting, and a cadre of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
