Kathleen Ellen Flores

Beloved wife and mother, Kathleen (Kathy) Flores, age 78, passed away on 11/1/25 after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loved ones at her passing.

Kathy is survived by her husband Theodore and her son Ted of Sacramento, her brother John of Grass Valley. Kathy is also survived by her stepsons Ron (Jackie) and Martin (Christie) and their respective children: Angel, Aaron, & Jenna; Janelle & Giana.

Kathy is preceded in death by her father, John; her mother Kathleen; and younger sister; Rosemary.

Kathy led a life of service. First as a telephone operator for AT&T, then as a housewife and mother, then going back to work as a paraeducator first at Galt Unified School District, and then later at Twin Rivers Unified School District. She very much enjoyed working with students as an RSP aide and the kids at the school loved her knowing that she really cared about them.

Kathy also cared for Mother Kathleen as she aged and briefly acted as an advocate for her younger sister Rosemary who had severe developmental disabilities.

One of Mister Rogers famous quotes that he attributed to his mother, who offered him comforting advice when he was scared as a young child: “Always look for the helpers. There will always be helpers “

As adults let’s embody that same helping spirit Kathy had and Mister Roger’s mom told us to look for it. In lieu of flowers please volunteer at a place of your choice such as a local food bank, Meals on Wheels, a homeless shelter, elementary school, or senior community center.

Services for Kathy will be at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Parish located at 660 Florin Road Sacramento, CA 95831 on Wednesday 11/12; 12:00 PM Rosary, 12:30 PM Funeral Mass.
