John Joseph Mc Guire Sr.

John Mc Guire Sr. was born on June 07, 1940 in Sacramento, CA, and passed away peacefully at Roseville Sutter Hospital, on January 20, 2026 at the age of 85 due to a falling accident. He was the son of Albert J. Mc Guire and Claire A .Mc Guire

John resided in Auburn for 58 years. He is survived by his 2 sons, John Joseph Mc Guire Jr., (wife Laura E. Mc Guire); Kevin Patrick Mc Guire and grandchildren, Sophia Claire Mc Guire, Johnny Joseph Mc Guire III,(wife Courtney Mc Guire) and Trevor Patrick Mc Guire.

John and as some people called him “Jack” lived a long and healthy life and will be remembered for his wonderful wit and personality and those big beautiful blue eyes. He helped many people out in life, he would go above and beyond, but that’s what Catholic’s do. John worked with Polich-Benedict Construction Company out of Sacramento where in his younger years was involved with installation of the utilities with Hawaiian Dredge Company at Tahoe Keys and Incline Village in the early 60’s. They also worked in establishing the underground utilities in Rancho Cordova. John was currently working everyday with his son John Mc Guire, Jr and grandson John Mc Guire, III at Mc Guire Pacific Constructors all the way up to the day before his fall. He had a strong engineering mind and work ethic bestowed in all who was lucky enough to be around him, “We will miss him greatly." If you’re ever in old town Auburn, CA stop in at Pasquales Ristorante to say hi to the family and have a “GROUP TIGHTENER”.

Catholic Mass will be held at St Teresa of Avila located at 11600 Atwood Road Auburn, CA 95603 on February 6, 2026 at 2:00pm. Safety vests and PPE strongly encouraged.

Johns interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 6700 21st St. Sacramento, CA later in the month during a private family service.
