With great sadness, the family of Harriet Trieskey announces her passing on April 29, 2025, in Sacramento, California. Harriet, a long-time resident of Chandler, AZ, had been in Portland celebrating her mother’s 99th birthday. On the way home, Harriet lost her long, hard-fought battle against cancer.
Harriet’s unquenchable spirit, gift for friendship, and zest for life will be remembered by all who knew her. An avid seamstress and quilter, Harriet loved taking fabric and turning it into something beautiful and useable. She brought that same creative drive to her cooking and photography. As a child, she collected lizards and turtles. As an adult, she was never without a rescue cat.
Harriet was born in Richland, Washington and lived between Washington and California for many years, graduating from San Diego State College and then starting a career in customer support in eastern Washington. Later, she moved to Arizona, where she met the love of her life, Guy Trieskey. Together, they owned and operated Trieskey Mechanical. In their spare time, they traveled throughout much of the U.S. Memorable trips included a winter visit to Fairbanks, Alaska to view the Northern Lights. They also went further afield, taking a voyage on the QE2 as well as visiting Scotland and India.
Harriet dearly loved her daughter, Yvonne Dasgupta, and was thrilled to welcome Yvonne’s husband, Jit, into the family. Her grandchildren, Swaraj and Rohan, brought her great joy.
Harriet is also survived by her mother, Clare Schulze, her sister and brother, Cecilie and Paul Schulze, and niece Emma Salo. Her father, Max Schulze, predeceased her.
