Gladine Miller (née French) passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, in Sacramento, California at the age of 91. She was born on January 4, 1934, in Fresno, California where she spent most of her life before relocating to the Sacramento area in early 2024.
She graduated from Fresno High School in 1952 and continued her studies at Fresno City College. Her professional journey began with Pacific Bell Telephone Company and later a successful career in sales, including many years in home improvement sales.
Gladine enjoyed life and lived it with enthusiasm. She was always willing to try something new including: spelunking, parasailing from a cruise ship, and flying to Catalina Island by seaplane. Gladine was artistic and even painted business windows one year with her creative Christmas designs. She also loved the excitement of gambling and at times would rise in the early morning hours for a trip to the local casino.
She found spiritual community and inspiration through Unity Church and First Church of Religious Science. Both were very meaningful to her and reflected in her positive outlook and generous spirit.
Gladine is lovingly remembered by her daughter Shawn Miller and boyfriend Michael Odem of Sacramento, sister Merrilee Davis of Roseville, nephew Todd Davis of Roseville, and grandchildren Matthew and Jessica. Gladine was preceded in death by her son Kevin Miller, brother Buddy French, brother‑in-law Bob Davis, mother Hazel Stewart, father Eugene French, and her companion for many years Gary Lubbers.
