Charmaine Helen Bailey (Lutkus/Mihalek), beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, was born on September 1, 1952, in Glassport, Pennsylvania. She passed peacefully on October 1, 2025, in Sacramento, California, surrounded by her loving family.
Charmaine was preceded in death by her parents, Vetold and Angela Lutkus (Kazmierczyk); her brother, Daniel Lutkus; her husband, Dwayne Robert Bailey; and her faithful dog, Maddie. She is survived by her sister, Helen Denne; her children, Andrew Daniel Mihalek (Samira Soleimanpour), Stephen Mihalek (Chantal Rodriguez), and Christine Wolfgram (Mihalek) (Samuel Wolfgram); and many cherished grandchildren who brought joy to her later years.
Charmaine dedicated over 40 years of her life to teaching, shaping the minds and lives of countless students. She taught for 15 years in the Evergreen School District in San Jose, California, and later served the Rocklin Unified School District for 20 years, where she retired. Her career reflected her passion for education, patience, and unwavering commitment to her students.
Outside of her profession, Charmaine was a true sun worshipper and avid camper. She found peace in her backyard swimming pool and joy in family vacations. Among her favorite retreats were Cotillion Gardens in the Santa Cruz Mountains and Stumpy Meadows in Northern California, where she built lasting memories with her loved ones.
Charmaine will be remembered for her warmth, dedication, and love of family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and cherished traditions that will continue to live on through her children and grandchildren.
