Charlotte Anne (Churilla) Celusnak, age 80, went peacefully to be with her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, on March 24, 2026, in Sacramento, California. She was born on December 13, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, to Frank Joseph Churilla and Agnes Elizabeth (Hodak) Churilla.
Charlotte married John Frank Celusnak on January 13, 1978, in Michigan. Charlotte loved gardening, crafting, and sewing, but her greatest passion was serving others. She devoted many hours to volunteer work in schools and organizations such as the Salvation Army, always giving generously of her time and heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Agnes Churilla, and her sisters, Irene (Ralph) Doak and Patricia (Thomas) Glass.
Charlotte is survived by her sister, Karen Zimmerman; her brothers-in-law, John Zimmerman and Thomas Glass; her daughter with John: Deanne (Celusnak) Heitman married to Vincent; and her beloved grandchildren: Lily, Colby, Brady, and Riley Heitman.
A funeral service will be held at W.F. Gormley & Sons in Sacramento, California, on April 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Silveyville Cemetery in Dixon, California, at 12:00 p.m.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Marconi Villas for their tender care and compassion toward Charlotte.
Charlotte was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
