Charles Edward Moody

Charles Edward Moody, lovingly known as Chuck, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by his family. Born on October 8, 1938, in Sacramento, California, Chuck was the cherished son of Gayle and Marie Moody.

Chuck grew up in Sacramento, where he attended and graduated from Sacramento High School. In 1960, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and spent two years stationed in Paris, France. A lucky man indeed, Chuck played a role in helping to rebuild post-World War II Paris, an experience he fondly remembered and often shared with his family.

After his time in the Army, Chuck returned home and began building a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication. Whether through his career, his hobbies, or his relationships, Chuck was known for his unwavering kindness, quick wit, and ability to make everyone feel welcome. His humor and warmth were unmatched, and he had a gift for brightening any room he entered.

Chuck was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He found immense joy in spending time with his family, sharing stories, and creating memories that will be cherished forever. He was a man of integrity, compassion, and strength, and his legacy will live on through the lives he touched.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Pat; his daughter, Julie (Aric); and his beloved grandchildren, Charley and Tommy. He is also survived by his sister, Linda (Ken) Heidt, and many extended family members and friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Gayle and Marie Moody, and his first wife, Marlene.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at June’s Place at Mercy McMahon Terrace. Thank you for taking such good care of Chuck and for the kindness and compassion you showed him during his time with you.

At Chuck’s request, there will be no services.

Chuck’s presence in our lives was a gift, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
