FLETCHER, Anne (Abeel, Anne; Livezey, Pearl-Anne),

Anne Fletcher passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at her home. Anne was born and lived the majority of her life in Sacramento, California. Anne grew up in the Land Park Area where she attended elementary school, Cal Middle School, and graduated from McClatchy High School in1958. Anne briefly lived in San Francisco and returned to remain in Sacramento the remainder of her life. Anne briefly worked for the California Department of Motor Vehicles before marrying her first husband, Alan Abeel; who together raised their daughter Susan and son Brian Abeel in South Sacramento. After 9 years, Anne moved on from that marriage, caring for her children, into her new home in South Sacramento where she remained until her passing. Anne, was briefly married to her second husband, Hugh McEvoy. And of course, she lived a gregarious life opening her heart to many, especially to the multitude of animals that she cared for and loved throughout her entire life.

Anne was always busy with the Sacramento community, becoming involved in the City Chamber of Commerce, Red Hat Ladies, and other political and charitable organizations. Anne was an avid actress over many decades in countless theatre productions throughout Sacramento’s numerous venues. In her later years, Anne also did story reading for Capitol Radio, continually giving back to her community.

Following her first marriage, Anne began to work several jobs to support her children, which eventually landed her in in the head-hunter industry working and eventually managing various legal and accounting placement agencies servicing Northern California.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lillian and Harry Livezey. She is survived by her children; Brian Abeel and his wife Akemi, Susan Abeel and her husband Greg and son, Trevor.

Anne’s life will be celebrated at Parkside Church, 5700 Land Park Drive, Sacramento, CA 95822 on Saturday, March 14th at 1 pm. A reception will follow. Donations may be made to the Parkside Church or the Sacramento SPCA.
